Every student has unique learning styles and aspirations. Lessons with Joe are supportive, accesible, and always guided by students’ needs. With over 10 years of teaching experience in a wide range of environments, including The Harvey School, SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, SUNY Purchase School of Art+Design, and Fountain House, Joe draws upon his diverse background in indie rock, field recording, sound art, studio work, and classical music to support students’ endeavors.
Joe Kress is an educator, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer based in Westchester. Joe is best known for his work with Harry Styles, Modern English, Liz Phillips, Annea Lockwood, Real Estate, Karriem Riggins, David Torn, and many more. Joe studied at the Mannes School of Music, McGill University, and SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Music in Studio Composition, Studio Production, and Trumpet Performance.
